No one wants to lose their photos and documents, which is why it's important to create backup copies and store them in a location from where you can get them back if something happens to your computer. SOS Online Backup is something you can certainly count on when it comes to backing up your data. As the name suggests, the software backs up your data and stores it online, where nothing can happen to it. Your files will remain private, so you don't have to worry about other people having a look at them, and you can also manage them and decide which ones will stay or not.

The software is free to try, without any significant functionality restrictions. It comes in a light package and can be installed in under a minute, without making any complicated settings. It supports all modern Windows versions, and it's compatible with both 32 and 64-bit editions. You don't have to meet any special requirements, but you will have to create an online account.

SOS Online Backup comes with a compact main interface, which lets you know how much storage space you have left and places a series of options at your disposal, for configuring and starting backup jobs and for recovering data. The software is designed to back up documents, images, music and videos, as well as custom files. It's set by default to scan your entire system for these files, but it also lets you target individual files and folders.

Besides telling the software what files to download, you can also tell it when to do it. It can be set to run a backup job immediately after you configure it, but the most important part is that you can set it to run backups automatically, without any user intervention at certain times, even if you are logged out of your Windows account. Backed up files can be found on a management window, where it's displayed in the exact same structure as in your local folders. If you need to get one or more files back, you can look for them on this window, select them and just click a button to download them back to your computer.

With SOS Online Backup working on your computer, you can rest assured that you will never lose your important files.

Pros

You can set the program to back up specific file types. It is also possible to set it to back up your data automatically. It comes in a small package, and you can install it in no time.

Cons

It may take some time to finish a backup job.
